The people of Bergamo here in the Capital are also preparing for
the canonization of Pope John, as demonstrated by "L'Eco di Bergamo."
The Archconfraternity of the Bergamascans in Rome has organized in its
headquarters on via di Pietra 70 an exhibition, entitled "Angelo
Giuseppe Roncalli and the Archconfraternity of Bergamascans in Rome,"
which will remain open throughout the month.
The exhibition is composed of documentation from the
historical archive of the Confraternity, that is, images and signed
documents that recount the strong connection of Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli
with the ancient sodality of Bergamascans in Rome (of which he was a
brother as well as wise counselor) and with the Noble Cerasoli College
(of which he was a student).
Alongside this exhibition, which may be visited at the
old Oratory of the Archconfraternity of Bergamascans in Rome, another
event will be added to the program on 28 April (the vigil of the
canonization of John XXIII) at the Church of the Archconfraternity of
Bergamascans in Piazza Colonna: at 5:30 PM, a reading of some sections
of "Journey of a Soul"; at 6 PM, concelebrated Eucharist; at 7 PM, a
concert of the Finish choir "Audite," offered to the sodality by the non
profit organization "Vivere in musica." The prestigious choral assembly
will present the following program, "Hymn to Saint John XXIII - the
first world performance - by Daniela and Raffaella Sabatini,
"Passacaglia" by Ludovico Roncalli and traditional religious songs by
various authors.
