Prefecture of the Pontifical Household: Free Entrance
The Prefecture of the Pontifical Household has announced that the Canonization Ceremony of Blesseds John XXIII and John Paul II on Sunday April 27 will be open to everyone who is located in St. Peter’s Square, Piazza Pius XII and Via della Conciliazione. No tickets are necessary. As on other occasions, the faithful are asked to be aware of "scalping" or the selling of tickets by tourist agencies or tour guides. All tickets for General Papal Audiences or Celebrations are free of charge.
Welcoming tents and Tourist Information Points

On April 26-28, 2014, there will be three temporary meeting points and welcoming centers located at the Basilica of St. Mary Major; Piazza del Popolo, and Piazza Risorgimento.
The above welcoming centers will be staffed by 25 volunteers and multi-language personnel from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
I PIT or Touristic Information Point will extend their hours until 10:00 p.m. on April 26-27 in the following areas:
  • PIT Stazione Termini
  • PIT Via dei Fori Imperiali
  • PIT Castel S. Angelo
  • PIT Piazza delle Cinque Lune
The temporary work of PIT there will also be a fixed area of PIT on:
  • Via Marco Minghetti (at the end of via del Corso)
  • Via Nazionale (at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni)
  • Fiumicino Aeroporto (Arrivals at the International Terminal T3)
  • Ciampino Aeroporto (Luggage area International Arrivals)

Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi (Roman Pilgrimages) will provide maxi-screens in a few central locations in Rome from Holy Week through April 28 in order to allow pilgrims, tourists and the citizens of Rome the possibility to participate in the religious events preceding the Canonizations.
Public Transportation for April 26-27, 2014
The subway will provide a non-stop service from 5:30 am on April 26 until 12:30 am on Monday, April 28.
Bus line 64 will run a 24 hour service April 13 - May 1, 2014.
Rome's mayor, Mr. Marino and assessors Leonori and Improta communicated on Tuesday, April 1 the following: “Based on hotel reservations and on past experiences, Holy Week thru May 1st will witness the arrival of 3 million visitors. The exact numbers will be known closer to the time of the events.”

Civil Protection
Between April 25-27, 2014, 24 hour volunteers numbering approximately 2,630 in total will be available in designated areas in agreement with 118 emergency services. About 4,000,000 bottles of water will be distributed.
Disability Services
The organization UNITALSI will provide service for the disabled by calling the toll-free number (in Italy) 8000062026. This service of accompaniment will be located in three points: Sant’Uffizio, Trasportina, Piazza Risorgimento. A wheelchair ramp from buses will be located at Via Porta Cavalleggeri.
First Aid
The emergency hotline, number 118, will effectuate an emergency plan based on the number of people estimated to be attending the events. On April 27, 2014, the following first-aid centers will be active: 1 white code tent, 13 advanced medical points, 5 medical re-animation points, 42 First-Aid Advanced points, 64 Basic Medical points, 81 teams of medical personnel, 5 maternal assistance points, 2 coordination vans, 4 ambulances and 3 crisis units.
Pedestrian thoroughfare in Via dei Fori Imperiali
Via dei Fori Imperiali will be open to pedestrians only (between Piazza Venezia and the Colosseum) starting at 7:00 pm on April 18, 2014 until May 4, 2014.
Sanitary facilities
The Ama organization will provide WC toilets in various places for the convenience of crowds in the areas of St. Peter's Basilica, Via Della Conciliazione, where maxi screens are placed in the historical city center, near bus parking lots, subway stations and First Aid points.

Veglia di preghiera in preparazione alla canonizzazione dei Beati Pontefici Giovanni XXIII e Giovanni Paolo II

L’ufficio Liturgico della Diocesi di Roma, in vista della canonizzazione dei Beati Giovanni XXIII e Giovanni Paolo II propone tre schemi a scelta per l’animazione di una Veglia di preghiera che aiuti i fedeli a prepararsi a questo evento di Grazia.

Si possono esporre alla pubblica venerazione le reliquie e le immagini dei due Beati, che saranno poste nell’aula liturgica o in presbiterio, ma non sull’Altare. Le reliquie e le immagini possono essere ornate con fiori e lumi e incensate all’inizio della veglia, insieme con l’Altare e la croce.
